Students use maps, photos, and simple data to describe climate, vegetation, and natural resources. They compare these features across the United States, Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean.

Given a regional map, photo, or data table, a student identifies likely climate, vegetation, and natural resources. The student compares two places and supports each claim with evidence.

Common Misconceptions

Students often confuse daily weather with long-term climate. They may treat vegetation as any planted crop, or name products like paper instead of natural resources like forests.

How to Assess It

Exit ticket: Compare Florida and northern Canada. Name one climate difference, one vegetation difference, and one clue supporting each answer.
