Common Misconceptions

Students often use diameter as the radius or mix up circumference and area formulas. They may count shared edges in perimeter or forget square units for area.

How to Assess It

Draw a 10-by-6 rectangle with a semicircle attached along a 6-unit side. Ask students to find the total area and outer perimeter.
