What This Cluster Means
What Students Need to Do
- Students create and revise oral, written, or digital work with others. They choose media that adds meaning, divide tasks fairly, and combine contributions into one clear product.
What Mastery Looks Like
- Students create a clear product using words and well-chosen media. They share tasks, respond to feedback, and revise so the final product feels consistent.
Common Misconceptions
- Students may add images, audio, or video only for decoration. They may divide the work without reviewing, revising, or connecting each person’s contribution.
How to Assess It
- Give students a short paragraph and three possible visuals. Ask them to choose one, explain its purpose, and suggest one collaborative revision.

Ways to Teach It
Pairs turn a short article into one presentation slide using a relevant image, a caption, and a cited source.
Ask students to write which team revision improved a shared draft most, then support their choice with specific evidence.
Teams rotate through shared slides, earning points for fixing unclear wording, mismatched visuals, missing citations, or inconsistent formatting.
Groups create a one-minute school announcement with a script, image, and audio clip for a real student audience.
