What This Cluster Means
What Students Need to Do
- Students work with others to plan, create, and revise a clear written, spoken, or digital product. They choose evidence, media, and design features for a specific audience and purpose.
What Mastery Looks Like
- Students produce a focused, organized product that suits the audience and purpose. They share tasks fairly, explain their choices, and revise the final product using useful feedback.
Common Misconceptions
- Students may split the work without checking whether the parts fit together. They may add images or media that distract, rely on one group member, or ignore peer feedback.
How to Assess It
- Give pairs a short article and ask them to create one slide that explains its main claim with evidence. Each student must name one revision made together.

Ways to Teach It
Use index cards to storyboard a three-slide explanation, then have pairs combine the strongest parts into one clear sequence.
Write a response to this prompt: Which group decision improved your final product most, and what evidence shows the improvement?
Play a revision relay where teams rotate through draft slides and suggest one specific change for clarity, evidence, or design.
Create a one-minute school announcement for students, with team members serving as writer, editor, designer, and speaker.
