What This Cluster Means
What Students Need to Do
- Students create oral, written, or digital work with classmates. They choose words, images, and other media for a clear purpose, then revise their work using peer feedback.
What Mastery Looks Like
- Students contribute ideas, complete an agreed role, and listen to their partners. They combine clear language with relevant media and make useful changes after feedback.
Common Misconceptions
- Students may add pictures or sounds only as decoration. They may let one group member do all the work or give feedback that is too vague to guide revision.
How to Assess It
- Give pairs a short paragraph. Ask them to add a labeled image and a recorded sentence, then explain how each addition helps the audience.

Ways to Teach It
Give pairs a short animal article, paper, markers, and tablets to make a poster with a diagram and recorded explanation.
Ask, "Which part of your partner's work is clearest, and what one change would help the audience understand more?"
Run a media-match game where teams pair messages with useful photos, captions, charts, or sound clips and defend each match.
Have groups create a two-slide school announcement that combines concise text, a relevant image, and shared speaking roles.
