The student answers, adds a related idea, and responds again across multiple turns. Contributions stay on the shared topic.

Common Misconceptions

Students may give one answer and stop. They may wait to speak but introduce an unrelated topic.

How to Assess It

Run a partner conversation and prompt at least three connected exchanges from each student.
