What This Standard Means
What Students Need to Do
- Students use digital tools to draft, revise, and publish social studies writing. They organize facts, claims, and visuals so readers can see links such as cause and effect or change over time.
What Mastery Looks Like
- A student can create a clear digital product with headings, logical sections, and useful visuals. Sources are credited, and links between ideas are stated directly rather than left for the reader to guess.
Common Misconceptions
- Students may treat design effects as more important than clear ideas. They may copy online text without credit, add unrelated images, or list facts without explaining how the facts connect.
How to Assess It
- Give students three facts about a historical event. Ask them to create one digital slide that explains a cause and effect relationship, includes a source link, and uses one relevant visual.
