What This Cluster Means
What Students Need to Do
- Students plan and create a short presentation using more than one way to share information, such as speech, text, pictures, or audio. They choose media that clearly support the topic.
What Mastery Looks Like
- A student creates a short, organized presentation with clear speech, readable words, and relevant pictures or audio. The chosen media help the audience understand the topic without causing distraction.
Common Misconceptions
- Students may add pictures, sounds, or animations only for decoration. They may use too much text, choose media unrelated to the topic, or read every word from the screen.
How to Assess It
- Ask students to make one slide about a favorite animal with a title, one fact, and one helpful image, then explain how the image supports the fact.

Ways to Teach It

Show two slides about the same topic and ask students to explain which media choice helps the audience learn more.
Play Media Match by having students pair fact cards with images, sound clips, or simple charts that support each fact.
Create a one-slide school announcement with a clear message, a helpful image, and a recorded sentence for classmates.
