What This Standard Means
What Students Need to Do
- Students use several kinds of resources to investigate STEM careers. They gather details about job duties, education, skills, workplaces, and career paths.
What Mastery Looks Like
- A student can research one STEM career using at least two different source types. The student records specific facts, identifies each source, and explains what the career involves.
Common Misconceptions
- Students may treat the first website they find as reliable or copy facts without naming the source. They may focus only on salary or confuse a job title with daily duties.
How to Assess It
- Exit ticket: Use a library database entry and a company career page to list two duties for one STEM career. Cite each source and name one credibility clue.
