- Students name several scientists and engineers and describe their work. They connect people such as Katherine Johnson, Sally Ride, and Ernest Just to specific discoveries, problems, or achievements.
What Mastery Looks Like
- A student can identify a scientist or engineer from a picture or short description. The student can explain the person’s work using a clear detail.
Common Misconceptions
- Students may think all scientists work in laboratories and all engineers build or repair machines. They may also confuse a person’s job title with that person’s specific contribution.
How to Assess It
