What Mastery Looks Like: The student explains 1/3 divided by 4 as sharing one third equally among four groups and finds 1/12. A model and equation support the quotient.
Common Misconceptions: Students may divide the numerator and keep the denominator unchanged. They may confuse 1/3 divided by 4 with 4 divided by 1/3.
How to Assess It: Ask students to draw and solve 1/2 divided by 5, then write a multiplication equation that checks the result.
