What Students Need to Do
- Students recall relevant experience information or gather it from provided sources to answer a question. They represent answers through drawing, speech, emergent writing, or combined modes.
What Mastery Looks Like
- The student selects information that directly answers the question and represents it accurately. The response shows whether information came from experience or a source.
Common Misconceptions
- Students may include favorite but irrelevant details. They may copy a picture without explaining how it answers the question.
How to Assess It
- Give a question and a provided picture or read-aloud. Ask the student to answer through drawing, speaking, or emergent writing with one relevant detail.
