What This Standard Means
What Students Need to Do
- Students present claims and findings in a logical sequence with relevant descriptions, facts, and details. They emphasize central ideas through clear eye contact, volume, and enunciation.
What Mastery Looks Like
- The presentation moves coherently from claim to support and highlights the most important points. Delivery makes the content easy for listeners to follow.
Common Misconceptions
- Students may include many facts without selecting salient ones. They may focus on eye contact while organization, volume, or articulation remains unclear.
How to Assess It
- Ask students to give a two-minute presentation with a claim and three ordered supporting details. Score logic, relevance, emphasis, eye contact, volume, and enunciation.
