- Students present claims, findings, and evidence clearly, concisely, and logically. They adapt organization, development, substance, and style to task, purpose, and audience.
What Mastery Looks Like
- The presentation has a focused claim, logical progression, sufficient evidence, and concise explanations. Tone, detail, and language fit the audience and occasion.
Common Misconceptions
- Students may include all research rather than selecting what advances the purpose. They may use a formal style that obscures meaning or ignore audience knowledge.
How to Assess It
- Ask students to deliver a four-minute evidence-based presentation for a named audience and purpose. Score clarity, concision, logic, support, organization, and style.
