Students interpret information presented visually, quantitatively, and orally. They explain how information from each format relates to the topic, text, or issue.

What Mastery Looks Like

The student accurately reads a chart or image, identifies key oral information, and links both to the shared subject. The explanation integrates rather than lists sources.

Common Misconceptions

Students may describe a format without interpreting its information. They may ignore labels, units, speaker context, or contradictions among sources.

How to Assess It

Provide a chart and a one-minute audio explanation about the same issue. Ask students to interpret one point from each and explain their relationship.
