What Mastery Looks Like

The student states an accurate central idea and selects relevant support from a chart, image, speech, or text. The explanation connects the formats.

Common Misconceptions

Students may choose the most noticeable detail as the central idea. They may summarize each format separately without linking them.

How to Assess It

Provide a simple chart and one-minute audio explanation on the same topic. Ask students for the central idea and one supporting detail from each.
