What This Standard Means

What Students Need to Do

Students include digital media or visual displays that clarify or support their ideas, thoughts, and feelings. The media has a clear communication purpose.

What Mastery Looks Like

The student chooses an image, simple slide, recording, or display that adds useful information. The student explains how it supports the presentation.

Common Misconceptions

Students may choose a favorite image unrelated to the message. They may show media without referring to it.

How to Assess It

Ask students to add one picture or simple digital element to a brief talk and explain how it clarifies an idea or feeling.

  2. Ask students what a visual adds that words alone do not.
