What Students Need to Do
- Explain why Franklin D. Roosevelt came to Warm Springs and how the area became a second home for him. Connect his experiences in Georgia to New Deal programs that brought jobs, public projects, and electricity to the state.
What Mastery Looks Like
- Students identify Warm Springs, the treatment center, and the Little White House as evidence of Roosevelt’s personal connection to Georgia. They explain at least two ways New Deal programs affected Georgians, using specific examples such as rural electrification, CCC camps, or WPA projects.
Common Misconceptions
