Students can connect a development to specific causes and effects, such as mechanized farming reducing farm labor and increasing urban migration. They can compare developments and defend which had the greatest long-term impact with accurate evidence.

Students may treat each change as separate or assume Atlanta’s growth benefited all parts of Georgia equally. They may confuse leaders and dates or overlook how roads, airports, jobs, and investment worked together.
