What This Standard Means
What Students Need to Do
- Students identify how Georgia supported the war through soldiers, military camps, farms, textile mills, bond drives, and volunteer work. They explain how each contribution supported troops or the home front.
What Mastery Looks Like
- Students can locate major camps such as Camp Gordon and Camp Hancock and explain their purpose. They can connect Georgia’s farms, mills, and citizens to wartime needs.
Common Misconceptions
- Students may think major battles occurred in Georgia or that training camps were battle sites. They may focus only on soldiers and overlook food, uniforms, Liberty Bonds, and Red Cross work.
How to Assess It
- Exit ticket: Name two different Georgia contributions to the war and explain how each helped the military or home front.
