What This Standard Means
What Students Need to Do
- Students explain how tourism, port expansion, and film production bring jobs, trade, spending, and investment to Georgia. They connect each development to national and global markets using facts and cause and effect reasoning.
What Mastery Looks Like
- Students can trace how each sector affects workers, businesses, and government revenue. They can compare the three sectors and support a claim about their economic reach with accurate evidence.
Common Misconceptions
- Students may think port growth affects only Savannah or that film work benefits only actors. They may also confuse money spent in Georgia with money kept as state revenue, or overlook seasonal and temporary jobs.
How to Assess It
- Exit ticket: For tourism, port expansion, and film, write one Georgia benefit and one link to the national or global economy. Circle the sector with the widest reach and justify your choice with one fact.
