What Students Need to Do
- Students trace how goods and services move through Georgia using roads, airports, ports, and railroads. They explain how these systems connect and judge how each supports trade, jobs, and economic growth.
What Mastery Looks Like
- Students can map a realistic shipment route and explain why each transportation system fits part of the route. They can use evidence to predict how a delay or closure would affect businesses and customers.
Common Misconceptions
- Students may treat each system as separate rather than connected. They may think airports only move passengers, railroads are outdated, or ports handle all international trade. They may also confuse imports with exports.
How to Assess It
- Give students this exit prompt: “Trace one product through Georgia using at least three transportation systems. Explain how one delay would affect its delivery and cost.”
