What Mastery Looks Like: Students correctly identify a trade barrier from a short scenario and explain its effect. They can compare barriers by describing what is restricted and how strongly trade is limited.
Common Misconceptions: Students may confuse a tariff with a quota or think both completely stop trade. They may also assume trade barriers always help every Canadian buyer and seller.
How to Assess It: Give students this exit ticket: Canada allows only 50,000 imported bicycles this year. Name the barrier and explain one likely effect on Canadian buyers.
