What This Cluster Means
What Students Need to Do
- Students use simple sources to find information about a class question. They share what they learned through speaking, drawing, dictating, or early writing.
What Mastery Looks Like
- A student can ask or answer a focused question using a book, image, video, or class observation. They can draw, dictate, or write one relevant fact and identify where they found it.
Common Misconceptions
- Students may copy an entire sentence without knowing what it means. They may treat guesses as facts or choose details that do not answer the question.
How to Assess It
- Show students a short picture book page about frogs. Ask them to draw one fact they learned and explain how the page supports it.
