What This Standard Means
What Students Need to Do
- Students build a digital presentation around one clear position or point of view. They organize ideas logically and choose text, visuals, and transitions that support the message.
What Mastery Looks Like
- The audience can identify the student’s position and follow the ideas from beginning to end. Each slide supports that position with focused text, useful visuals, and clear transitions.
Common Misconceptions
- Students may treat a broad topic as a perspective, without stating what they think about it. They may fill slides with paragraphs, add unrelated images, or place ideas in an order that is hard to follow.
How to Assess It
- Ask students to create three slides arguing whether phones should be allowed during lunch. Require a clear position, two supporting points, and one relevant visual.

Ways to Teach It
Give groups printed slide cards from a mixed-up presentation, then have them arrange the cards and explain their sequence.
Have students write one sentence stating their position on school uniforms, then list three points that directly support it.
Run a slide surgery game where pairs revise crowded or off-topic slides and earn points for clarity, focus, and readable design.
Ask students to create a short digital pitch proposing one realistic improvement to the school cafeteria, library, or outdoor space.
