Students explain how supply, demand, profit, and global competition shape Texas agriculture, energy, and technology businesses. They trace how Texas industries affect jobs, prices, and markets beyond the state.

What Mastery Looks Like

Students can build a clear cause-and-effect chain from a market change to decisions by Texas producers. They support claims with accurate examples from agriculture, oil and gas, aerospace, medicine, or computers.

Common Misconceptions

Students may think Texas businesses sell only within the state or that higher prices always mean higher profits. They may confuse demand with supply or overlook labor, shipping, and production costs.

How to Assess It

Exit ticket: Choose one Texas industry and explain how a change in national or global demand could affect its production, profits, and workers.
