- Students explain how earthquakes and climate affect where people live, how they build, and how they earn a living. They connect each physical process to specific human effects.
What Mastery Looks Like
- Students give accurate cause-and-effect examples, such as earthquakes damaging roads or dry climates limiting farming. They use details from maps, images, or short case studies to support their explanations.
Common Misconceptions
- Students may confuse climate with daily weather or treat earthquakes as climate events. They may name property damage but overlook migration, jobs, health, building design, and emergency planning.
How to Assess It
- Give students one earthquake image and one climate map. Ask them to write one specific human impact for each and explain the cause-and-effect link.
