What Students Need to Do
- Students use models to show how moving wind, water, and ice wear away, carry, and deposit sediment. They identify deltas, canyons, and sand dunes and explain how each forms.

- Students can match each landform to the process and agent that shaped it. They can use a model or diagram to explain where erosion, transport, and deposition occur.
Common Misconceptions
- Students may think all landforms form quickly or that erosion only destroys material. They may confuse deltas with dunes or think canyons are formed by wind alone.
How to Assess It
- Give students pictures of a delta, canyon, and sand dune. Ask them to name the main shaping agent and write one sentence explaining how each formed.
