What Students Need to Do
- Students use a given input rule to calculate output values and organize them in a table. They write the results as ordered pairs and plot them on a coordinate grid.

- Students may read ax as a + x or multiply in both rule forms. They may switch x and y, miscalculate from x = 0, or use uneven intervals on the graph.
