What Students Need to Do
- Students use notes, pictures, or facts collected with an adult to show what they learned. They explain a finding through speaking, drawing, labeling, or writing.
What Mastery Looks Like
- A student selects relevant facts and states them accurately in their own words. They answer simple questions and connect their facts to the class inquiry.
Common Misconceptions
- Students may copy words without understanding them, share an unrelated fact, or confuse a guess with gathered information. They may draw a picture without clear labels or an explanation.
How to Assess It
- Give students three class notes about what plants need. Ask, “Use two notes to draw and write one thing you learned.”
