Common Misconceptions: Students often confuse the General Assembly with the United States Congress or think legislators enforce laws. They may mix up the minimum ages, 25 for senators and 21 for representatives.
How to Assess It: Give students this exit prompt: List three qualifications for a Georgia legislator, then explain the General Assembly's main job in two sentences.

Lesson moves

Give groups candidate cards with ages and residency histories, then have them sort each candidate as eligible for the House, Senate, both, or neither.
