What Mastery Looks Like: A student can explain why Australia exports products such as iron ore, wool, or wheat while importing electronics and vehicles. They can name a benefit for each buyer and seller.
Common Misconceptions: Students may think specialization means producing only one good. They may assume one country must lose in every trade or that imports are harmful. Some confuse specialization with complete self-sufficiency.
How to Assess It: Give students this exit prompt: Australia exports iron ore and imports phones. Explain how specialization supports this trade and give one benefit for each country.

Lesson moves
