What This Standard Means
What Students Need to Do
- Students use a calendar to find the month name and the days of the week. They explain how a calendar helps people keep track of time.
What Mastery Looks Like
- A student can locate the month title and point to each weekday label. They can name the day and month for a marked date.
Common Misconceptions
- Students may call Tuesday a month or October a weekday. They may think every month begins on the same weekday or has the same number of days.
How to Assess It
- Show a calendar page and ask, “What month is shown, and where are the days of the week listed?” Have the student point while answering.
