- Students compare financial, investment, and insurance plans by weighing costs, risks, possible returns, access to money, and protection. They explain why one option may fit a person better than another.
What Mastery Looks Like
- Students compare fees, premiums, deductibles, coverage, risk, return, and access to funds. They recommend a plan for a given person and explain the tradeoffs with evidence.
Common Misconceptions
- Students may assume higher returns are guaranteed or that low premiums always mean lower total costs. They may overlook fees, deductibles, exclusions, risk, and limits on accessing money.
How to Assess It
- Exit ticket: Jordan can invest $200 monthly in a 3% savings account or a stock fund with uncertain returns. Recommend one, then state one advantage and one disadvantage.
