What Students Need to Do
- Students reread drafts to find unclear ideas, inaccurate details, weak organization, and missing context. They reorganize sentences, replace vague wording, verify information, and add explanation that develops the main point.

Common Misconceptions
- Students may treat revision as correcting spelling, punctuation, and grammar only. They may add extra sentences that repeat ideas, mistake confident wording for accuracy, or include evidence without explaining its significance.
How to Assess It
- Ask students to revise one paragraph from a current draft by fixing one unclear idea, checking one factual detail, and adding one useful explanation. Have them label each change.
