- Students turn everyday situations into mathematical problems. They select useful information and tools, solve, then interpret the result in context.
What Mastery Looks Like
- Students choose a useful operation, equation, table, graph, or estimate without being told which one to use. They label units and explain why their answer makes sense in the situation.
Common Misconceptions
- Students may use every number given, even when some details are irrelevant. They may ignore units, context, or limits and report an answer that is not reasonable.
How to Assess It
