What Students Need to Do: Students decide how to share findings based on the audience and purpose. They create a clear written report, oral presentation, or combination of words, images, audio, and video.
What Mastery Looks Like: Students select a format that fits the audience, purpose, and type of information. Their presentation is organized, accurate, and supported by useful visuals, audio, or text.
Common Misconceptions: Students may choose a format because it is easy or fun, rather than because it fits the audience. They may treat multimodal work as decorated slides or read an oral presentation word for word.
How to Assess It: Give students a set of class survey findings and two audiences, the principal and sixth graders. Ask them to choose a format for each audience and justify each choice in one sentence.

Lesson moves

Give groups survey data, poster paper, and tablets, then have them present the same findings in written, oral, and multimodal forms.
