What Students Need to Do: Students recall every product of two one-digit numbers from memory. They answer products accurately without rebuilding each fact.
What Mastery Looks Like: The student gives products such as 7 times 8 and 9 times 6 from memory. The student recalls facts in mixed order and connects each to related division facts.
Common Misconceptions: Students may count by ones or repeatedly add for every fact instead of recalling products. They may swap a product with a nearby fact.
How to Assess It: Show twelve mixed one-digit multiplication facts. Ask the student to answer from memory, then use two answers to state related division facts.
