What Students Need to Do: Students gather facts about a Florida history topic from books, articles, maps, videos, and trusted websites. They compare details across sources, then combine them into a clear explanation.
What Mastery Looks Like: Students use information from at least two sources to explain a Florida event, person, or place. They identify agreements or differences and name the sources that support their conclusions.
Common Misconceptions: Students may copy facts from one source instead of combining ideas. They may treat every website as reliable, overlook conflicting details, or confuse their own opinions with source evidence.
How to Assess It: Give students a short textbook passage and a museum webpage about the Seminole Wars. Ask them to write three sentences combining facts from both sources.
