What Mastery Looks Like: Students accurately describe a population pattern in a place or region. They connect that pattern to specific geographic factors and support the explanation with map evidence.
Common Misconceptions: Students may assume people are spread evenly or that large countries always have larger populations. They may name a geographic feature without explaining how it affects settlement.
How to Assess It: Give students a physical map and population density map of one region. Ask, "Where is population concentrated, and which two geographic factors best explain this pattern?"

Lesson moves
