- Students identify the parts of texts that use more than printed words, such as pictures, sound, video, and clickable icons. They explain what each part adds.

- Students can point out words, pictures, audio, video, captions, and clickable icons in a digital text. They can explain how two features help communicate the same idea.
Common Misconceptions
- Students may think every picture is decoration or that a play button is part of the story. They may focus on one feature and miss how words, images, and sounds work together.
How to Assess It
- Show a digital page with words, a picture, and a speaker icon. Ask, “Name two features and tell what each helps you learn.”
