What Mastery Looks Like
- A student reads an analog clock showing 7:45 and writes 7:45 p.m. for an evening event. The student also describes the time as quarter to eight and places both hands correctly.
Common Misconceptions
- Students may count clock numbers as single minutes or place the hour hand directly on the next hour before it arrives. They may confuse a.m. and p.m. or reverse quarter past and quarter to.
How to Assess It
- Ask students to show 2:35 p.m. on an analog clock, write the digital time, and explain whether it is before or after half past two.
