What Students Need to Do
- Students explain how better schooling and job training can help workers produce more goods and services. They use country data to connect worker productivity with average income per person.

- Students describe a clear chain from education or training to stronger job skills, higher productivity, and possible growth in GDP per capita. They support the explanation with evidence from Brazil, Cuba, or Mexico.
Common Misconceptions
- Students may confuse total GDP with GDP per capita. They may assume schooling raises income immediately or guarantees growth, ignoring resources, trade, technology, and government policies.
How to Assess It
- Give an exit ticket: “How could job training raise GDP per capita in Mexico? Explain the steps in two sentences.”

Give groups worker cards, training cards, and counters, then compare how many products trained and untrained workers make in three rounds.
