What This Standard Means
What Students Need to Do
- Students create, revise, format, and share writing in a digital document. They use online tools to exchange feedback and type at least three pages during one sitting.
What Mastery Looks Like
- A student independently creates an organized three-page document during one class sitting, with readable formatting and few typing errors. The student shares the file correctly, gives useful feedback, makes a revision, and submits a working link.
Common Misconceptions
- Students may reach three pages by enlarging the font or spacing instead of developing ideas. They may type quickly but skip proofreading, file names, or sharing permissions. Some treat peer feedback as praise only, rather than giving a specific suggestion.
How to Assess It
- Ask students to type three pages answering, “What change would improve our school, and why?” using 12-point font and double spacing. Require one specific peer comment, one revision, and a working view link.

Pairs draft a class guide in Google Docs, add headings and images, then exchange comments and revise from one suggestion.
Show two peer comments, “Good job” and a specific revision note, then ask students which helps more and why.
Run a ten-minute typing accuracy challenge where students copy a passage, check errors, and try again to beat their accurate word count.
Create a three-page article for the school newsletter, then share it with an editor and revise before publication.
